So I know I’ve been posting a lot of Christmas posts over the past two weeks, but that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about Thanksgiving! In fact, today I want to share a transitional piece that can easily move from Thanksgiving to Christmas.

As we all know, sometimes the holiday season can make a big dent to the bank account, so I’ve been looking to keep my holiday decor cost minimal. For most of us, we can easily create this {Give Thanks} tree for free. I already had all of my materials on hand from past projects, so I didn’t have to spend a penny! I also love that I can keep this up through Christmas. I’ve kept the color pallet “Fall” inspired, but not too much. Just enough to where it will also match my Christmas decor!

What I Used:
Greenery (aka, the “tree”) – $1 (found at the $1 store)
String or Bakers Twine – $1-$9 for a multi-pack (found at Target)
Scrapbook Paper – .25 – .50 per sheet
Vase – Mine was an old whiskey decanter

** This project was also very easy. It probably took me about 10 minutes from start to finish. It would have taken even less time if I have a circle die cutter like this one. I’ve seen die cutters like these at Michaels, Target and Hobby Lobby, but the cheapest I’ve found still ranges from $8-$10. Since I already had scissors on hand, I just traced and cut.

First, trace and cut your circles from your scrapbook paper.

Once I had all my circles cut out, I began writing everything I was thankful for. There are SO many things I have been thankful for this year, so it was hard to choose a select few (since my tree is so small). Maybe next year I’ll get a bigger tree and continue to add things each year. Oh looky there! I think I just created a new Walton tradition;)

I then hot glued those circles onto the bakers twine. After I had everything glued, I began arranging my strings on the branches.

I simply tied each string to a branch and called it a day! Simple as that:)

And to state the obvious… I’m also so very thankful for my Bailey girl:) I figured she was included under the “family” section, right??

So what are you all thankful for this year?
