So the day has come! I can finally show you all our “new-to-us” home! It was a long weekend for sure, and I might be sitting at my computer with tissue up my nose and a cough drop in my mouth, but it was all worth it. We’re mostly moved in and couldn’t be more thankful. The home is a classic 1950’s ranch style 3 bed 2 bath in one of our favorite neighborhoods in Fort Worth. We have a TON of plans for this house and cannot wait to get started.

One of our main projects is to paint the exterior of the home and to add some thicker columns to the front porch. Depending on the color we chose for the brick, we might also update the shutters and paint the door. More to come on that!

entry

Just about every room has a design plan already, but there are so many details that I will save those for another post. Above is the entry and below is the formal living and dining. We plan to open up some walls and update the flooring throughout, but that will all be determined by the budget eventually.

Above is our den which will be our casual living space. Below is the kitchen which will also contain a ton of projects. Cabinets will be painted and remember, all flooring will be updated throughout the entire house. You might have also noticed the assortment of builder basic, too-big-for-the-space light fixtures… yes, those will be gone as well.

Below is the room extended off the kitchen. This is where we will place our casual dining area.

guestbath

Above is our guest bath and below is our master bath. Both have an eventual plan, but will most likely stay as is for a little while. We have a lot of projects to tackle first, so these bathrooms will have to remain last on the list!

Below is our backyard which doesn’t really show well in this picture. These photographs are all from online (the listing photos), so they aren’t the best quality. Once I find the time, I will try to take some better photographs for you guys. But I digress! The backyard is beautiful and filled with tall trees and an amazing covered back porch.

I’m so excited to finally have a house to call our own and cannot wait to start sharing all of my projects with you guys. And if any of you were wondering how our two little furballs have adjusted, they’ve been doing just fine! It took Bailey about 2 days of hiding under our bed (and other random dark crevasses), and Bella just one day of hiding in our closet, but last night once all the craziness settled, the girls were out and about.
