I seem to have a “thing” for natural textures and wood tones – especially when they are old and aged. If you go antique shopping as much as I do, I’m sure you have seen these antique grain scoopers. Some are real, and I’m sure a TON are replicas. Either way, I LOVE them. When I bought mine a few years ago, I didn’t know exactly what I was going to use it for. It eventually ended up on my wall as a mail caddy.

Since I thought I might use it again someday for another purpose, I didn’t want to puncture the wood with any sort of wall hanging device. Instead, I simply wrapped some jute string around the front handle and used that as my “hanging wire”. Now if I ever want to use it for another purpose, the wood is still fresh and unharmed!

I love how it matches the wood tone in the rest of our office. What do you think of my little transformation??
