Happy Friday everyone and welcome back to the second week of the Blue Christmas Blog Hop. Last week you might remember my DIY Scrapbook Ornaments and this week we are focusing on wreaths and wall decor. I had been looking forward to creating my Christmas wreath for quite some time now, so I can’t wait for you guys to see what I came up with!

Lately I have been searching for natural looking faux garland. Or even natural looking faux boxwood. My problem was that anything that looked real was SUPER expensive and just not in the budget. I then had the idea to check out Lowes with the intention of buying a small boxwood bush ($6.99 per bush) to cut apart and use to create a wreath. Well… they were super tiny and wouldn’t have given me enough material to work with.

I then found such a happy surprise. REAL garland! Ok, I know I’m late to the party here. Apparently I never knew Lowes carried real garland… how did I not know that?? Anyways! At $20 for 20 feet, I couldn’t pass it up. It wasn’t only a good deal, but this stuff is simply stunning. It’s what I’ve seen in magazines and exactly what I’ve been looking for. And whats even crazier is that it’s cheaper than all the fake garland I’ve been seeing around. I know I won’t be able to keep it for years and years, but I’m totally ok with that.

A few weeks ago I posted about my re-usable Fall wreath and how I planned to transform it into a Christmas wreath when the time came. Neither one of these wreaths use any glue, so the base is re-usable. After I took apart my Fall wreath, I was ready to create my Christmas wreath.

I first draped my garland flat on top of the base wreath. I then tied the garland down in about 5 different locations with some jute string. After that, I began placing my berry picks (found at Garden Ridge) into different areas of the wreath.
