I’m not really sure where to start today’s post. You might not have noticed, but over the past 2 weeks I’ve given myself a tiny little break from the blog to sit back and reflect on a lot. Mainly reflect on where I want to go with The Blissful Bee – my overall goal, my blog platform and how I want to represent myself. I’ve been in a pretty large “blog funk” over the past few weeks and I really needed some time to sit back, relax, and analyze the direction of the blog.

quote3

As you all know, I have a strong passion for interior design. I don’t think that’s much of a secret. But there is so much more to me and who I am. In a way, I almost feel like I am hiding a HUGE part of my personality by strictly posting about DIY projects and home decor. If you follow me on Instagram, you might know what I’m talking about. I tend to post not JUST about home decor, but about everything I love – fashion, photography, life, and yes, (of course) interior design. Over the past few weeks, I’ve realized I feel more “myself” on my Instagram account than I do on my own blog! How crazy/confusing is that?? After making that realization (and going through a long blog funk) I knew I needed to make a change. Why?? A.) To satisfy myself, and B.) To show you all who I really am and share EVERYTHING design related in my life. Don’t worry, home decor and DIY still take up about 80% of my life, so the blog focus isn’t changing. It’s just… shifting a bit.

quote

I didn’t expect this change to happen and especially not this soon, but I feel like I just need to go with it. I hate hate hate that I am changing things up on you guys (yet again) but I know I need to follow my heart on this one. I just recently changed my blog design (literally just a few weeks ago) and I thought that was going to fix my blog funk. I was thinking maybe I just needed a new look and that would fix my weird mood. But I was wrong. The change I needed was fundamental, not a simple surface change. As I promised, interior design will still be the main focus of the blog, and of course DIY as well (simply because that is a huge part of who I am), but I also want to open up more with you guys. I will be adding a bit of fashion, lifestyle, drink recipes and my general thoughts on life as well.

quote4

I know I will lose some readers. And it will hurt a bit. Actually, it might hurt a lot. But I completely understand. Not everyone likes change and I totally understand that not everyone might care about my favorite outfit of the week or favorite margarita recipe for the summer. But I need to remain true to myself and blog about what I know and love. And who knows, maybe I will gain other readers along the way. I hope you all enjoy the new direction I will be headed and bare with me in this slight change.

quote2

You all have touched my life in a way I never knew could happen. I never knew an online community could grow to be such a strong and important part of my life. You all are amazing and one thing I know for sure is The Blissful Bee wouldn’t exist without you guys!

And just a heads up, I’m currently working on a super fun project/partnership that will be revealed hopefully this summer. There will be DIY and home design videos galore and I cannot wait to share them with you guys. Get excited!!
